Limited overhead space was the main challenge during this Harrow refurbishment. Multiple copper lines had to pass around existing drainage and structural sections while remaining neatly separated and properly supported. We planned the routes before fixing the longer parallel runs and completing the bends, junctions, and wall transitions.
Planning Around the Existing Drainage Routes
Larger drainage pipes already occupied parts of the ceiling. We examined the whole area and identified where groups of copper pipes could share a route without competing for the same space.
Careful route coordination was central to this plumbing installation project, as the copper lines had to share the ceiling space with existing drainage and structural sections.
We also marked the locations where individual lines needed to separate, turn around concrete sections, or descend along walls. Establishing these routes first helped us prevent crowded crossings later.
Installing the Main Parallel Runs
We fixed metal support channels to the concrete structure and added individual clips for the copper pipes. We then installed the longer lines in parallel groups, maintaining regular spaces between neighbouring runs.
Each line was secured individually, with regular spacing maintained across the parallel group. The completed arrangement kept the copperwork supported and clearly separated from the surrounding services.

TG HANDIMEN did an amazing job fixing the boiler very promt(and re-boxing) a leaky sewage pipe that was running through our flat. He’s even leant us a wallpaper steamer free of charge after seeing the state of the wallpaper we need to remove.Tibi is punctual, efficient, and so friendly. We’ll definitely be calling him again for any future bits and bobs. Hi, recommendations.![]()

Tibi was very helpful and done a wonderful job for my commercial bathrooms and water heater. I will have him come and fit my bathroom suit and new boiler in the next few months
Completing the Bends and Junctions
The most detailed work occurred where the straight runs changed direction. We measured each transition and formed controlled bends around walls and structural sections.
We added support where a turn placed greater demand on a pipe and kept the copper lines clearly separated from the drainage system. We completed the multi-pipe junctions only after confirming the adjoining routes, allowing the sections to connect without pulling secured lines out of position.
Final Checks Before Ceiling Closure
Before handover, we inspected the supports, clips, joints, bends and direction changes. We confirmed that the copperwork remained aligned and that all later-stage connection points were accessible.
Ceiling closure sets a firm deadline for concealed plumbing work. For a similar Harrow refurbishment, discuss the pipework stage with our team while the overhead routes remain accessible.
