We completed a radiator upgrade across the kitchen, bathroom and living area of a Harrow property. We fitted modern white panel radiators, adapted the existing copper pipes and completed new valve connections suited to each room.
Although the finished radiators created a consistent appearance, every room presented a different installation challenge.
Measuring Each Installation Separately
We treated each radiator position as an individual installation rather than assuming that one set of measurements would suit every room.
Our heating and property improvement work included adapting the existing pipework and valve positions to suit each selected panel. The available wall width, bracket positions, valve centres and existing copper routes differed between the kitchen, bathroom and living area. We checked these details before altering the pipework. This was particularly important where cabinets, sanitary fittings and tiled surfaces restricted the working space. Accurate preparation allowed the new panels to sit level while keeping the valves accessible. It also helped us limit unnecessary changes to the surrounding finished surfaces.
Kitchen: Working Below the Cabinets
The kitchen pipes travelled along the lower wall beneath fitted units. After removing the previous radiator, we measured the new unit and altered the horizontal copper sections to meet its valve positions.
We formed controlled bends, kept the pipes close to the wall and supported the longer exposed runs. We then mounted the radiator and completed the connections without obstructing the surrounding cabinetry.
Bathroom: Fitting Beside the Basin
The bathroom provided a narrow tiled wall beside the basin. We positioned the compact radiator so it did not restrict access to the sink or conflict with the existing supply and waste pipes.
We adjusted the heating connections around the nearby plumbing, secured the unit level and kept both valves accessible. The completed radiator made practical use of the restricted wall space.
Living Area: Installing the Longer Panel
The larger room allowed us to fit a wider horizontal radiator. Its length required accurate bracket positions and valve centres.
We marked the mounting points, adjusted the copper connections and checked the radiator for level before securing it. The completed unit now sits correctly against the wall as a clean horizontal feature.
The Completed Upgrade
We finished the project with three radiators adapted to their individual rooms. The kitchen connections fit beneath the units, the bathroom radiator occupies its limited space neatly and the longer panel is accurately positioned in the larger room.
Radiator selection should account for the available wall width and existing valve positions. Send us the room details and preferred radiator sizes to request an installation review.
